Recognizing Stroke: Every Second Counts

A stroke occurs when blood supply to the brain is interrupted. Quick recognition and treatment can significantly improve outcomes.
## Remember FAST
- **F**ace: Is one side drooping?
- **A**rms: Can they raise both arms?
- **S**peech: Is speech slurred or strange?
- **T**ime: Call emergency services immediately!
## Additional Warning Signs
- Sudden severe headache
- Vision problems
- Confusion or trouble understanding
- Dizziness or loss of balance
- Numbness on one side of the body
## What to Do
1. Call 998 (UAE Emergency) immediately
2. Note the time symptoms started
3. Keep the person calm and lying down
4. Do not give food or water
5. Perform CPR if they become unresponsive
## Prevention
- Control blood pressure
- Manage diabetes
- Quit smoking
- Exercise regularly
- Maintain healthy weight
